Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on the Internet user’s device (computer, tablet, phone) when it is visited, in order to store information on it.

This page explains which cookies are used by the website “www.peekin.me” (hereinafter “the Website”), published by PeeK’in, and how to manage them.

Cookies used by the Website

The Website uses only one cookie, placed by PeeK’in itself:

Cookie name Purpose Issuer Retention period Consent
lang Remembers the language chosen by the Internet user, in order to display the home page in that language on subsequent visits. PeeK’in (first-party cookie) 12 months Not required: cookie strictly necessary for the service requested

This cookie is placed only when the Internet user chooses a language, using the language selector of the Website or by following a link that specifies the language to display. It contains only the code of the chosen language (“fr”, “en” or “es”).

It is strictly necessary for the provision of the service expressly requested by the Internet user, namely displaying the Website in the language of their choice, and is therefore exempt from consent.

Audience measurement

PeeK’in measures traffic on the Website with the Matomo tool, configured without cookies: no cookie is placed on or read from the Internet user’s device for this measurement.

If the Internet user’s browser sends the “Do Not Track” signal, their visit is not measured. The Internet user can enable this signal in the privacy settings of their browser, where the browser offers it.

The Website places no advertising cookies, no audience measurement cookies and no social media cookies. Only the language cookie described above is used and, as it is exempt from consent, it does not require a banner. This is why the Website does not display a consent banner.

Should the Website start using other cookies, this page would be updated and the Internet user’s consent would be obtained before any such cookie is placed.

Managing cookies

The Internet user may at any time delete the cookies stored on their device, or block them from being placed, from the privacy settings of their browser.

Blocking or deleting the language cookie does not prevent the use of the Website. The home page is then displayed in the language deduced from the browser’s preferences: in French or Spanish if that is the browser’s preferred language, and in English in all other cases. The language selector remains available on every page.

Contact

For any question relating to cookies or to their personal data, the Internet user may contact PeeK’in’s data protection officer by email at gdpr@peekin.me or by post at 54 rue Desaix, 44000 Nantes, France. The privacy policy sets out their rights and how to exercise them.
